She was born May 30, 1924 in Ciudad Jimenez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Rosalio and Maria Gamboa Acosta. Mrs. Lujan was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. Those left to mourn her passing include a son, Ruben Lujan and wife Antonia of Las Cruces; two daughters, Berta L. Lockhart and husband Jack of Phoenix, Arizona, Gloria Yamashita and husband Richard of Albuquerque; two sisters, Carmen Seanez of Chihuahua, Mexico and Emma Limas of Ciudad Jimenez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Other survivors include five grandchildren, April Lujan, Katelyn Tellez, Joseph Lockhart, Emily and Bryan Yamashita; five great grandchildren, Jesslyn Lujan, Anthony Cartajena, Sophia and Eva Tellez and Vanessa Isabel Lockhart as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merced C. Lujan, two sisters, Josefina Acosta and Ramona Estrada; a brother, Arturo Acosta. Visitation for Mrs. Lujan will begin at 6 PM Thursday, May 27, 2010 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. The Family and Friends will join together the celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10 AM Friday, May 28, 2010 in San Jose Catholic Church, 353 Josephine Street in La Mesa with Reverend Juan Almarza officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in San Jose Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Jack Lockhart, Richard and Bryan Yamashita, Jose Luis, Jesus and Ramon Limas. Honorary bearers will be Heriberto, Charlie, Eduardo and David Lujan.
