Ricardo was born on April 03, 1919 in Three Rivers, NM to Julian Hidalgo and Librada (Molina) Hidalgo. Ricardo made farming a career choice and enjoyed it for many years and he worked on various farms in local areas. He was survived by his loving wife, Teresa (Sifuentes) Hidalgo of Columbus, NM.; three sons, Julian and wife Leonor Hidalgo of Columbus, NM., Ricardo Hidalgo of Deming, NM., Efain Hidalgo of Guadalupe Victoria, Mexico.; three daughters, Juana and husband Nicolas Nunez of Lubbock, TX., Rosa Lilia and husband Oscar Melendez of Columbus, NM., Irma Isabel and husband Manuel Ordaz of Lubbock, TX.; one brother, Romolo Hidalgo of Palomas Mexico.; twenty- three grandchildren and twenty- nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both his parents and three daughters, Maria Sofia Nunez, Dona Elena Puentes and Mireya Hidalgo. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Holy Family Mission in Columbus, NM with the rosary beginning at 7 p.m. with Father Antonio reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. at Holy Family Mission with Father Antonio officiating. Interment will follow at Columbus Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ari Nunez, Ricky Hidalgo, Jesus Hidalgo, Manuel Ordaz, Carlos Nunez and Jose Nunez.
