Archuleta, 55, of Las Cruces, NM passed away on Thursday, July 08, 2010 after nearly fourteen years of fighting her battle against her illness. She was born on August 24, 1954 to Policarpio and Soledad Archuleta. Nellie is survived by her three daughters Renee Renteria, Denise Castillo, and Debra Castillo. Six grandchildren Mathew, Jasmine, Alexis, Aundrea, Alyssa, and Hailee. She leaves behind her mother, Soledad Archuleta, brothers-Paul Archuleta, Ben Archuleta, Sammy Archuleta, and Tony Archuleta; sisters-Yolanda Infante, Mary Donohue, Sally Rank, Irene Archuleta, Jesse Sheppard, and Stella Archuleta. She also has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She worked for the Las Cruces Public School District for many years as an educational assistant. She enjoyed working with her students. Throughout her illness she continued to live her life to the fullest extent. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. Visitation for Nellie will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 beginning at 6 p.m. at La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home 555 W. Amador with a prayer vigil to begin at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church 1327 N. Miranda beginning at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mathew Lopez, Frankie Renteria, Ricardo Orozco, Anthony Aranda, Jacob Martinez, and Frankie Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Walters Jr., Shamon Singleton, Paul Archuleta, Ben Archuleta, Sammy Archuleta, and Tony Archuleta. We wish to extend a heart felt thank you to the staff at UNM Cancer Center, St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ, MMC Cancer Center, and Mesilla Valley Hospice for their love and devotion to our mom. Rosalie was predeceased by her husband, Paul Rader, her son, Henry Rader, her Sisters Elizabeth McComas and Mary Alexander and her Brother Thomas Veitch. Rosalie was one of eight children born to Raymond J. Veitch and Herminda Fountain Veitch of Mesilla. She is survived by her brother, Ray Veitch of Mesilla, NM and her sisters, Mabel Veitch Mora of El Paso, Texas, Jean Veitch Kumbusky of Enon , Ohio , Lorraine Veitch Harvey of Niceville , Florida , Sisters-in-Law Rosemary Hubbard and Sharon Douglas and Brother-In-Law Robert Rader. Rosalie discovered her love for music at a very young age and took piano lessons from Jean Decker. She continued her piano studies with Claude Herndon in El Paso. Rosalie attended New Mexico State University and taught piano for the Mary Morgan Piano Students School in El Paso. She also studied piano in Boston at the Longy School of Music. She truly enjoyed classes on Bach at Harvard University and Beethoven at Boston University. Rosalie sang with the Dessoff Choir in New York City. One of the highlights of her life was singing Carmina Burana at Carnegie Hall. Rosalie also enjoyed her garden and upon her return to Mesilla, dedicated much of her time serving her community as Police and Fire Commission, Trustee and then Mayor of Mesilla. Her love of Mesilla and Mesilleros remained with her throughout her life. She truly enjoyed reading; a hobby she shared with her husband, Paul. There will be vigil services at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at San Albino Church in Mesilla. A reception at Yanez Hall will follow the services on Tuesday evening. A memorial mass will be held at San Albino Church in Mesilla at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010. A private family burial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice at 299 E. Montana, Las Cruces, New Mexico 88005. Arrangements are with La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home. He was born February 03, 1965 at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, Bermuda to Walter J. and Vera Jean La Fleur. He was an active and independent spirit. He graduated from High School in Laurel, Maryland. In high school he worked as a mechanic in an auto racing shop, and was the mainstay of his father's racing team. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1989 as a Hull Maintenance Mechanic. He attended trade school in Orlando, Florida and eventually went on to become an Electrician on large projects in South Carolina. He loved the waterways of the Gila, the Appalachians and the Great Smokey Mountains. He backpacked the Gila River from Snow Lake to the Cliff Dwellings, and from Grapevine to beyond Turkey Creek. On weekends he provided audio system support to a number of bands. He was good with children and was beloved by those of his relatives and friends. He cou! ld always be counted on for an interesting tale or two, properly embellished. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Vera Jean Scott Shupe of Deming, NM. She was born December 25, 1938 in Parsons, Kansas to Stella A. and Matt E. O'Connor. Mary graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Parsons, and then completed an Associates Degree in Bookkeeping at Parsons Junior College. She met James Ross at Lake Texhoma and married three years later on December 28, 1963 in Parsons Kansas. Mary moved to Las Cruces in 1977 from Oklahoma with James. She was a loving mother and volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and softball coach when her four girls were young. She played tennis with her family and watched all four of her daughters play High School tennis at Mayfield and College tennis at NMSU. She was involved with the Las Cruces Tennis Club, and was President of the Club during the early 1980's. She was also a member of the Picacho Hills Country Club tennis association, and a Charter member of the NMSU University Tennis Center. Later she learned golf and became a member of the Las Cruces Country Club, and then a member of the NMSU Golf Club. She was President of the Women's Border Golf Association during the late 1980's. She also liked playing Canasta and Bridge with the Ladies at the Las Cruces Country Club after golf. Mary is survived by her husband James (Jim) of 47 years, and sisters: Rose Ann McGannon, Stella Mae Sedlar (husband Don), and Arlyne Stover. She is also survived by her four daughters: Judy Harlas (husband Randy), Becky Lee (husband Jud), Cathy Kwiatkowski (husband Matt), and Chrissy Kehl (husband Tom). She is survived by ten grandchildren: Jeremy and Lindsay Harlas, Olyvia and Chloe Lee, Ryan, Evan and Alyssa Kwiatkowski, and Jason, Nathan, and Kimberly Kehl. She is preceded in death by her mother Stella A. and father Matt E. O'Connor. She is also preceded in death by her brother, who died as an infant. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 Miranda St. Las Cruces, New Mexico on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 12:10 p.m. At her request, cremation will take place, and inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably during WW II. While in the service he was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, European-African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge and the Victory Ribbon. He also retired after many years of faithful service from WSMR as a mechanic. Eliseo was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and gambling but his passion was for his family. Mr. Padilla will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his seven children Eliseo "Eli" Padilla, Gloria Nuanes and husband Romolo, Steve Padilla and wife Dora, Frank Padilla and wife Susan, Priscilla Padilla, Albert Padilla and Gabriel Padilla; his brother Gilbert Padilla and wife Emma; 19 grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his loving wife Adela Padilla, daughter Linda Padilla, grandson Peter Padilla and by his brothers and sisters. Ken was a life member of the Elks Lodge, a member of the D.A.V. and the Masons. He also loved flying, being a ham radio operator, the outdoors and camping, but his passion was for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. She loved her family and enjoyed many years with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her favorite things to do was to spend time and take trips with her sister Helen. She also enjoyed being with her nieces and nephews. Anna had a wonderful sense of humor and loved life to the fullest. She was a member of the Methodist Church and loved her savior Jesus Christ. Rossi II, 44 of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday July 3, 2010 at his home. He was born on July 7, 1965 in Tacoma, WA to Jeffrey and Marilyn Rossi. Jeffery graduated from Clover Park High School in Lakewood, WA after which he married his high school sweet heart, Beverly Safko and joined the United States Army. During his service with the Army, Jeffery achieved the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to President Ronald Reagan's Explosive Ordnance Advance Party Team specializing in Nuclear Explosives. His job was to go to an event and search for explosives days before the President would arrive. In 1990 Jeffery and his family moved to Las Cruces, NM. Jeffery was a Carpenter by trade, he enjoyed reading, and a loving father. He is survived by his wife Beverly Rossi and daughter Ashley Rossi of the family home, his mom Marilyn Miron and husband Edward of Oconto Falls, WI, brother Anthony Preman and wife Julie of Milwaukee, WI, nephews Jordan, Austin, and Christopher Preman and niece Abigail Preman. Jeffery was preceded in death by his father Jeffrey Rossi in April 2002. A visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Sunday July 11, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home. The Lanning family were always there for him as well. He aspired to become a nurse and started by attending college with his sister at DACC. His friends called him "Izzy" and his family all knew him as "Milo". Visitation for Ismael Soto will be held at La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 6 - 7 P.M. Watson was a retired post mistress from Cokedale, CO., wh had moved to Silver City to live with her daughter. Funeral services will be held in Cokedale on Friday. Watson is survived by her husband, Joseph R. Watson of Silver City; daughters Linda Middlebrook of Silver City, Nancy Corley of Guam, and Barbara Lemens of Tolar, TX; son, Murray of Guam; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was born to Victor Leo "Stedy" and Letitia "Tish" Quin Stedronsky on January 24, 1940 in Greenville, Mississippi. He is survived by his sister Shan Nichols of Las Cruces, nephew Dr. Robert L. Nichols and wife Debra of Santa Teresa, niece Shelly Nichols-Shaw, and grandnephew John Nichols-Shaw of Round Rock, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Anton "Tony" Stedronsky. Leo moved to Mesilla Park with his family in 1949. He attended schools in Mesilla Park and graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1958. He attended NMSU until he became employed by Holiday Inn as their youngest innkeeper at the time. He worked throughout the southwest in the food and beverage industry for many years. A graveside service for Leo will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home.
