    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: marcenath Surnames: Norwood, Landers, VanValkenburg, Hanson Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newmexico.counties.donaana/4699/mb.ashx Message Board Post: On January 30, 2008 Justice Marie Norwood, a little redhead full of fire came to this earth. Soon we would find out that she was born with a broken heart. God would take her hand and a miracle took place. The world's greatest heart doctor with hands blessed by God repaired Justice's little heart. Every one that she met along the way was amazed at the strength, joy and courage of our tiny opera singer. Music was the center of Justice's life from the start. Anyone who saw our little redhead smile had no choice but to smile as well. If ever God placed a child on this earth to light up people's lives, Justice was that child. We have always called her our firecracker; beautiful, amazing to watch, and explosive. Justice lived her life as we all should, as if noting could ever stop her. Love and kindness was her every moment. She loved her sister more than anyone. On Justice's last day she smiled and her courage was for her Mother and I. God took away all her pain, her illness, and! all of the worldly things she suffered from. She runs in the grace of God playing, dancing and never will she get tired again. Our Father in Heaven holds her in his arms as we did on earth. Justice smiles down on us from Heaven. Our flower planted in heaven to make it beautiful. We miss you and will join you in Heaven in due time. She is survived by her parents Jeremy and Chrissy, three brothers, Cameron, Darren and Hayden Norwood and one sister, Liberty, ""Libby"" Norwood all of Las Cruces. Also surviving her are her maternal grandparents, Karen and Billy Landers of Las Cruces and Leonard and Debra Van Valkenburg of Waterville, Maine; Maternal great grandmother, Myrtle Dell Hanson of Las Cruces; Paternal grandparents, John and Jeanie Norwood of Locksburg, Arkansas; paternal great grandmothers, Lilly Norwood of De Queen, Arkansas and Beverly Ann Mills of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Justice is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home. From 1969 until 1984 Bill served in several administrative positions including Federal Programs Director, business Manager of Hobbs School and Principal at Heizer Junior High. In 1984 Bill was chosen to Assistant Superintendent of the Portales Municipal Schools. He served there for four years then retired from NM public schools with thirty two years of service. He then ventured to the University of Oklahoma to be the financial and business manager for federal program based there for "Drug Free Schools and Communities". He served in that capacity for five years. He then was discovered and recruited by the vocational technical school Mid-Del, based in Midwest City, OK. His primary assignment was to write and deliver curriculum as to the use and maintenance of electric vehicles such as those used by the airline industry. He then branched out! in to the area of safety instruction where he collaborated with the OK State Dept. of ED. To develop curriculum and programs that teaches and encourages safety culture in the workplace. This was to facilitate a reduction in on the job injuries and those businesses who adopted these guidelines experienced significantly lower workman's compensation claims. Bill LOVED to fish with his favorite catch being largemouth bass. He and his fishing buddies enjoyed many memorable adventures fishing lakes including Novio in Mexico, several in Texas and Oklahoma and the small ponds found in rural Oklahoma. After moving to Las Cruces in 2007, he remained a loyal OU Sooner fan watching every football, basketball (both men and women's) and any other athletic OU event nationally televised. He did become an Aggie fan, attending girl's volleyball, girls and boys basketball and football games. He enjoyed the many concerts played by Mesilla Valley Concert Band and rarely missed a performance. He loved to putter in the yard, having raised beds built where he grew delicious tomatoes that were generously shared with friends. Bill was an accomplished cook and enjoyed sharing his creations with friends. Bill's gifts of knowledge and kindness shaped many students' lives. He was a highly respected professional serving as mentor to those with whom he worked and as an example to all. He was gifted with a most clever sense humor and ability to delight with his poems which he composed for birthdays and special occasions. He always had a genuine, gentle, kind and calm way about him not losing his sense of mirth and love to life after his diagnosis and many surgeries for the cancer that plagued him the last portion of his life. 1. [NMDONAAN] Hale Glenn F. Obit
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: marcenath Surnames: Hale, Buckley, Dinwiddie Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newmexico.counties.donaana/4682/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Longtime Payson resident Glenn F. Hale, 71, died August 24, 2010, after a long battle with chronic leukemia. He was born, along with his twin sister Gwenn, in Twin Falls, Idaho, on January 27, 1939, to Seymour "Bill" Hale and Velda Buckley Hale. Mr. Hale graduated from Payette High School in Payette, Idaho, in 1957. He spent seven seasons as a smokejumper, fighting fires for the U.S. Forest Service, based out of McCall, Idaho, and Silver City, N.M. From 1963 to 1965, he served in the U.S. Army Airborne as a parachute instructor. He held a Master Parachute Rigger certification, and for many years was a licensed pilot. He married Terry Lynelle Dinwiddie on the H-Y Ranch, near her hometown of Cliff, N.M., on April 30, 1966. For the first two years of their marriage, they lived on an air base in Savannakhet, Laos, where he worked for Continental Air Services, contracted with the Central Intelligence Agency. Upon their return to the United States, he earned his bachelor's degree in business and real estate from the University of Arizona. Through Hale Construction, he designed and built nearly 500 custom homes throughout Tucson. His largest project was the Sunny Hills development on the north side of town. After moving to Payson in 1981, Mr. Hale worked as a construction superintendent and site manager for several companies. It's hard to drive through Payson without seeing one of his projects: a 48-unit condo complex, a 60-unit apartment building and the 1985 expansion of Payson schools, and more. From 1990-1994, he was general manager of UMOS (later called Brooke Utilities), and served as a consultant there until 2001. He was a capable man who enjoyed tackling problems, especially for the benefit of young athletes. He coached many youth basketball and baseball teams, and used his construction skills and contacts to improve sports facilities here and in Tucson. Mr. Hale was the volunteer project manager for the 1987 PHS softball and baseball fields, but he also worked on snack bars, locker rooms, water systems, a Greyhound travel bus, scoreboards and the PHS track. After his work at the Pioneer Elementary School playground, a short "scenic parkway" was jokingly named in his honor. In their "retirement," the Hales built and operated A Storage Place, the RV and boat storage yard in the airport industrial park. He and his wife spent a few months each year on the road, visiting grandchildren across the country. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Terry Hale; son Jupe Hale (Debbie) of Plymouth, Minn.; daughters Sandie Jo Felice (Louie) of Boise, Idaho, Niki Price (Dave) of Lincoln City, Ore., and Colleen Cunningham (Michael) of Bend, Ore.; and nine grandchildren: Alex and Matthew Mischo; J.J., Connor and Charlie Hale; Margery and Ethan Price; and Haley and Logan Cunningham. Mr. Hale also leaves behind two brothers, Alan Hale of Cheney, Wash., and Bill Hale of Caon City, Colo., and two sisters, Gwenn Clem of Goldendale, Wash., and Barbara Wharton of Spokane, Wash. A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Mountain Bible Church, 302 E. Rancho in Payson, Ariz. Glenn's friends and colleagues are invited to a potluck reception, immediately following the service, at Ramada Four at Rumsey Park. His ashes will be interred in the Dinwiddie family plot at Mesa Cemetery in Cliff, N.M. That ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2010. Memorial donations may be made to the Payson High School Stadium Fund, Payson Unified School District, P.O. Box 919, Payson, AZ 85547. In the memo line, write "Glenn F. Hale Memorial."
