She was born January 2, 1935 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico to Leandro Barraza and Juana Rodriguez. Josefina known to many as "Tita", the nickname bestowed upon her when her beloved first grandson Josue could not say Abuelita. She was known by the people that she came in contact with as a loving, gentle and caring person. Josefina worked hard all her life and at the age of 10, she would leave her family in Juarez and go to work as a house servant ironing and cleaning to help earn money for her family. Her love for children led her to work as a Nanny and she would share fond memories of the kids that she helped raise. In 1950, Josefina married the love of her life, David Ybarvo and together they shared the joy of loving and raising their own six children. Eventually the grandchildren came and she would care for them too, always making sure they knew they were loved while Mommy and Daddy were at work. This love for children did not stop with her own family, but that love continued throughout the majority of her life where she would care for other children and always made sure they had plenty of love and attention. Josefina was an amazing cook and baker, everyone who tasted her red chile meat and her biscochos fell in love with them and often requested she make them for their weddings or other special occasions. Josefina always showed people she loved them by welcoming them into her humble home, feeding them and treating them like royalty. Her love and caring did not only stop with children and grandchildren, Josefina showed it to everyone and everything she came in contact with. Her love of flowers and plants were always demonstrated throughout her home and especially her front yard. She was an amazing mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who devoted her life to faith and family. Her love of colors and love of the desert southwest led to her many avocations. She and her family spent many happy days visiting every state except the Dakotas. After her retirement, she and Ed traveled to Canada and Mexico, and returned to their beloved Italy. 1. [NMDONAAN] Finch Rosemarie Lozada Obit
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: marcenath Surnames: Finch, Lozada Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newmexico.counties.donaana/5119/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Rosemarie Lozada-Finch passed from this world at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2010. The family and friends of Rosie will be celebrating her life and the incredible gifts she provided all of us, in a memorial service at Grahams Mortuary on January 14th, at 1:30 p.m. Rosemarie Munoz Medina was born in Puerto Rico, and had five sisters (Grace, Carmen, Sophie, Josie, and Dora) and two brothers (Raymond and Nickie.) She came to New York City, with her fraternal twin, Carmen at nine years of age. She was raised by a strict but loving father (papa) and a beautiful and playful mother. Rosie married at age nineteen and had six children. Two of her children, Rosie and Godfrey's granddaughter Tiva and great grand children, Lanise & Laniel passed away before her and four daughters, Sam, Myriam, Brandi, and Amina all live in New Mexico. During her time n NY, raising her young children, she also managed a small family business. She later moved, close to family, to Miami, Florida, and also operated two restaurants during her time there. Thirty-three years ago she moved to New Mexico to assist with support of her daughter Brandi's during the birth of her first child, Justin. During this time, she truly grew and blossomed as an independent woman. Rosie continued her education, learned to drive, met numerous new friends, and worked with senior programs, along with continuing to provide love and support to her daughters and grandchildren. Rosie stepped out of her traditional culture and roles and sought out new learning and experiences. She loved reading and learning new things, was very inquisitive and open to new ideas. Family remained a key focus in her life and she especially loved participating and providing support to the new endeavors and experiences of her children and grandchildren. Almost four years ago, at 84 years of age, Rosie married Chet Finch, and the family celebrated their marriage and desire to lead a righteous life together. Rosie was a highly spiritual person. Her expansive spirit expressed the values of love and caring, being open-minded to ideas, understanding and expressing compassion for all people regardless of race, status, life problems or their past. Rosie did not understand nor did she tolerate rudeness. She taught her children to love deeply and without reservations, and to remain committed to your values and beliefs and return to them when things change. She taught an unconditional love, being fully present in caring for others, and for family to fully express their love and trust for each other. Our sense of loss is expressed in the following: "Mama, you will be missed like the sky without the light of the stars." No matter how much, or many times, we said we loved her she always warmed our hearts when she replied: "I love you mo! re."
