I am not related to Mr. Fletcher and have no further information. Ronald D. "Jiggs" Fletcher, Grants, NM, son of Harry and Hazel Jones Fletcher, passed away unexpectedly from congestive heart failure Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, while on vacation with his family in Mazatlan, Mexico. He was born July 6, 1926, at the family farm near Cairo. He was an active member of AARP serving as a tax aide and a member of the State Legislative Committee. He also participated in the Senior Olympics for several years. He had worked for 20 years for Kerr McGee, Quivera and ten years at Harrison Western Mining Companies in the Grants and San Mateo area. He was also a Veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps. He never knew any enemies and was always ready to help. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria; four children, Terry and his wife Karen Fletcher in Grants, Ronni and her husband Billy Goolsby in Albuquerque, Keith and his wife Kathie in Douglas, Wyo., Mitchell and his wife Rita in Glendale, Ariz; four grandchildren, Jacey and her husband Jack Bryson in Cheyenne, Wyo., Matthew Fletcher and Barbara in Las Cruces, N.M., Cara and her husband Joey Tulino in Albuquerque; one great-grandson, Matthew R. Fletcher in Las Cruces; four dearly loved grandchildren by marriage, Will, Warren, Margie and David; 18 other cherished great-grandchildren by marriage. He is also survived by one remaining brother, Feryl Fletcher in North Hills, Calif; one sister-iln-law, Lorraine Rosales in Lead, S.D.; and many friends and extended family in Iowa and South Dakota. Jiggs was preceded in death by his father and mother; six sisters; and two brothers. Cremation has taken place and services were held at 2 pm Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Grants Mortuary.
