Hi everyone! I subscribed to this list a few days ago, but I haven't seen any postings yet. Hope that I'm doing this properly. :-) I'm doing research on my great grandfather, William Sherman, who lived in Albuquerque during the late 1800's. William married a woman by the name of Sofia Garcia around 1888, but I haven't been able to confirm this fact. When I wrote to the Bernalillo County Courthouse, they were unable to find any record of the marriage. Would anyone have suggestions on how to find out what Catholic church would have this marriage record? I've heard that the Archdiocese of Santa Fe has such records, but I have a feeling that they are not equipped to handle genealogical requests. What do you think? Also, are there any master indexes of deaths/births that occurred in New Mexico? I'm trying to confirm that William Sherman died on July 9, 1906, in Albuquerque, as well as trying to find out when Sofia Sherman died. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
