He was born April 16, 1909 to Bernard J. Dannenbaum and Rica Edith Bibo-Dannenbaum. Carl attended school in Grants and in San Francisco. He served his country in WWII, from 1943-1945 as a yeoman in the U.S. Navy. Carl was the former owner of"Cash Mart" and then, Your Food Store" in Grants. He retired from the grocery business, and was a member of the Retail Clerks-Employers Union. Carl was also a life member of VFW Post #3221. He is survived by his brother, George S. Dannenbaum of Grants; a large extended family; and many friends, including the staff at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Hospital, who took a special interest in him and cared for him so well in his final days. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of many years, Bonnie Dannenbaum. Graveside services with interment of cremains will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with ! Chaplain Col. Lemuel Boyles, USAF (Ret) officiating.
