Kuoppala, 74, a resident of New Mexico for almost 40 years, and 15 of those in Albuquerque, died Thursday, April 2, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Cone Miller and husband, Paul A. of Newcastle, WY; grandsons, Kerry Mark Cone and wife, Amy of Freeland, MI and Chris Cone and fiancee, Susan Fu of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Callie Cone and fiance, John Cochran of Albuquerque; brother, John Brest and wife, Wilma of Akron, CO; sisters, Elizabeth Kuoppala and husband, Gunnard of Butte, MT, Bernice Boyle and husband, Herb of Palmer, AL, and Dorothy Kempf and husband, Tom of Sandy, OR; and brothers-in-law, Sigurd Kuoppala and wife, Grace of Albuquerque, John Niemi and wife, Betty of Buffalo, SD, and Eino Kuoppala and wife, Margaret of Palmer, AL. Numerous other family members throughout the country will mourn her. Marie persevered through numerous hardships in her life. She loved her family and her flowers, and she made great contributions to her family's happ! iness and success through that love. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Cone, Paul Miller, Mark Cone, Chris Cone, John Brest, Sigurd Kuoppala, and John Cochran. Memorial contributions may be made to the Albuquerque Biological Park, 903 10th St. SW, 87102. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Tuesday, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
