Is there someone on this list who would be able to look for an obit for me? My information is that John McCarthy who was born 11 June 1907 died in Albuquerque 4 November 1980. I will be happy to pay reasonable costs. Need to know if anyone other than his wife Genevieve survived him. Thanks so much for any help you can provide. Joyce [email protected]

hello everyone, for anyone interested in the treaty of guadalupe hidalgo which applied to the land grants of new mexico, i came across this in researching another project. go to the website and click on the version in english o español. it take about 2 to 3 minutes to download. i am trying to understand it, but maybe the second reading, i will make a breakthrough. it is good reading for bedtime, as i resulted in a few yawns and a final 75 minute nap. if you print it, it is 49 pages long. http://www.gao.gov/nav.html bye for now, sam-quito ************************************************************************* A message from Sam-Quito Padilla G. at: [email protected] NM Death Index Project. I need your help. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Walter E. EALY taken at the Geo. H. Wonfor Portrait Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 13 March 1889. Walter was just 6 months old when the photograph was taken. I was hoping to find someone in Walter's family so that the photograph could be returned to its rightful place with family, however, to date I've had no success in finding the family. I appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thanks, Shelley

From the return to El Paso del Norte after the reconquest (~1693), we will follow one branch of the family into Mesilla and on to Tularosa, New Mexico. After a foray into the Tejano - manito interactions, we will follow the steps backward in more typical genealogical mode. If anyone in the vicinity happens to be interested, let me know and I will add info on parking. By the way, it is a flex (professional development) seminar for faculty in the LA Community College District but others will be in attendance. Ray Mireles.
