That restriction removal has to be VERY VERY recent because it was on the information as recent as two months ago. Anyone has access to Gallup records - particularly the parish of Gallup??? There are several records that I need to check on. the information given about the archdiocese of santa fé church record films is not correct. these films can be order thru your local family history center. the only catholic church records in new mexico not available thru the family history center are the archdiocese of gallup. these can only be view at the archdiocese of gallup office, archdiocese of santa fé office, the state archives office in santa fé and HGRC office in albuquerque. if you go to the family history center website at: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp and enter the county name, as sometime the city/town/church does not come up and in option, type new mexico. then go to church records. click on the entry with the state, county and town/church/city. hope this is helpful to everyone. ************************************************************************* A message from Sam-Quito Padilla G. at: [email protected] NM Death Index Project. a little problem here..... The films of Archdiocese of Santa Fe which covers all of New Mexico are RESTRICTED. Can not be circulated to any Family History Centers. Available only at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. The only other place that have duplicate films are at the offices of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, NM. There may be duplicate set at the NM State Archives but not confirmed. W. David Samuelsen Angela wrote: > > Posted on: Bernalillo Co. Posted on: Bernalillo Co. NM Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NM/Bernalillo/10222 Surname: DE HERRERA, LOBATO, LUCERO, LUJAN, LLANES, MESTAS, ROMERO ------------------------- Searching for information, on my g-g-grandparents, Juan Lorenzo DE HERRERA (1824-1894), and Maria Paula ROMERO (1831-1891),who migrated from Rio Arriba County, NM, to Conejos County, Colorado in the early 1800's. Their children were named, Miguel Antonio, Cresencio, Luis, Melqiades, Elijio, and Alcario. It is believed, by a family member, that Maria Paula's parents, were a Lorenzo ROMERO, married to Maria Josefina GALLEGOS? It is also thought that my grandparents marriage record, and possibly their childrens birth records, may be located at Los Cabrillos, San Juan NM. Any contact information that you can provide on the Catholic Church, located there, would be of great assistance. Thus far , I've been unable to determine, or locate any parental information on Juan Lorenzo, in the Antonito, Colorado area, where he lived most of his adult years, and is also buried there. It is hoped, that researching the NM archives (Rio Arriba, Santa Fe, and Bernalillo Counties ), will be more fruitful, and get me back on track. My e-mail address is [email protected] Thank you for your attention to my request.

I just got home from Albuquerque yesterday afternoon and found out that the place where my aunt is probably buried is quite a ways from Albuquerque. She died somewhere around Cloudcroft or Alamagordo so when I do get a copy of her death certificate I will have to make a special trip over that way and going through Tucson will be closer for me. I live in Scottsdale AZ But we did have a good visit with my grand daughter Tiffani Chambers, at UNM. She played in the softball tournament and got her picture in the paper for winning the second game on Sun. Thanks again to everyone on the list that helped me out with information. Thelma
