Greetings from the Coordinator of the NMDI Project, I do hope the New Mexico Death Index was useful tool for your genealogical research. At last count, there was over 8000 hits on the site from when it gone on-line on November 6. I have removed the counter from the site, as who cares how many people have gone to the site. Half of the request fee went toward Section/Book 3 budget. With the large amount of requests, we have reached the estimated budget for Section/Book 3. With the budget goal been reach, the Volunteers will not be accepting anymore request postmark after December 31, 2001. There is a link on the NMDI website of various sources on where to request a DC. The Project Coordinator does not respond to emails requesting information about death records or amendments to the death index.
