I am looking for information on John Shanley and his family, who lived on Academy Street, Oxford in 1880. At the time, John lived with his wife Catherine (Regan) and daughter, Jessie. John and Catherine were both 58 at the time and were born in Ireland. Daughter Jessie was 19 and listed as born in England. They had at least two other daughters. Sabina was 20 and lived in Belvidere where she worked as a servant. Elizabeth (my gg grandmother) was 16 and lived in Pittsburgh where she was a servant. Sabina and Jessie eventually moved to Pittsburgh as well, but I have lost trace of Catherine and John. I also believe there were other children. In 1870, Oxford Township, there appears to be a John Shanley of an appropriate age (45) with a son, Thomas. Both are listed as being born in England. I suspect the Shanleys moved to England from Ireland and then to New Jersey. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. I have lots of info to share on their descendants. The fact that they were in New Jersey has taken me by surprise. I am unfamiliar with resources available in Warren County (birth, marriage, death records, etc.). Any info on resources would be very helpful as well. Shaun --- Shaun Martin --- [email protected] --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.
