Hi, Folks... I recently got copies of some old letters which were sent to a distant cousin in 1868. The writer was living in Pennsylvania at the time, close enough to easily hop across the river to visit New Jersey. There are 4 names in the letters that I'm hoping someone can identify. The writer of the letters was "Al" or "Allie" Wilson (a female). I believe her husband was Jake. She visited her uncle, Warren Hawk "by the way of Hope", and while there, "Vic" (another female) Albertson (maiden name Newman) called to see her. Do these names ring any bells with anyone? Thanks! Jan Reuther
"by the way of Hope" might be referring to New Hope, PA. This is across the Delaware River from New Jersey.
