While visiting the Easton Library on Satruday, Sharon the Marx Room librarian mentioned that the Easton Library is putting the Indexes to the Church Records found in the Marx room on the web. She mentioned that I should spread the word like I did for the online Obit index. They are currently up to letter K at this time, but plan to finish the rest of the index in about a month. These are sorted by last name. Next to each person name will be a Volume Letter and the page number for that Volume Example: Under the last name Achenbach (2. Ackenboch 3. Ackenbock 3. Affenbach 5. Aschenbach 6. Auchenbach 7. Aughinbaugh) Peter Daniel (2) MM211 Phillip Ks 77 78 96 101 105 110 346 MM198 205 In the First Example for Peter Daniel The (2) represents the vaiation of the Spelling of Achenback, MM reports the Church Record Volume and 211 is page number in Volume MM. the Second Example Phillip (No Number means the first spelling of last name, Achenbach), found in Volume KS on Pages 77, 78, 96, 101, 105, 110, 346 The name can be found also in Volume MM on pages 198 and 205. I do not have translation of Volume Letter to the specific church record.. This is just an index to names found in Church Records in the Marx Room. You will have to go to the Marx room to look up the person you find in the index, or have someone do it for you. I am not associated with the Easton Library and cannot answer any questions about the collection or why you can see it in your browser, if there is a problem.. The Url to the index is http://www.eastonpl.org/ChurchIndexList.htm Thank You Kevin Frankenfield www.frankenfield-beam.net
