Joseph's parents were William Shippen M.D. and Susannah Harrison and this line goes back to the 1600s in Yorkshire, England. Have have squat on Susanna Harrison or her line. The Shippen's came from Pennsylvania as that is where Joseph was born. My knowledge on this family line is very limited as I have not done much to follow this family since it is a collateral line. Dear Christie, I am not sure what you mean by collateral name. Could you please explain since I am a descendent of Susan Shippen daughter of Martha and Joseph Shippen.
