    3. I've discovered tavern applications at Hunterdon County, so would expect the same laws would apply in Warren. There, it seems, the person wanting to run a tavern needed to submit an affadavit of good character with names of people who knew him. But, if before 1824, then you'd look at Sussex Co. courthouse. If you've never been to Harmony, you may not realize that the building - probaby - still exists. At least, a building that once was called Harmony Hotel - and probably a lot of other names too - stands at the top of the incline where 519 bends toward Belvidere (it's still 519 going toward Belvidere, by the way). It's clearly an old building and in my lifetime - last 60 years - someone had painted over the date on the chimney, but I think it said 1783. What was the name of your family who owned it? I think I have a note somewhere saying that it was owned by a Person/Persing family too.
