From the Sullivan County Democrat, Callicoon, New York dated February 7, 2006: Edythe Johnson, 102 Ret. Schoolteacher Edythe Johnson of Callicoon, a retired schoolteacher and longtime area resident, died Monday, February 6, 2006 in Callicoon. She was 102 years of age. The daughter of Jesse and Mae Maring Rice, she was born September 6, 1903 in Blairstown, N.J. She was the widow of Merritt Johnson. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Callicoon. She is survived by a daughter, Joan Johnson of Callicoon. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hortonville Cemetery with Pastor Peg VanSiclen officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Callicoon United Methodist Church, P.O.
