By the way, there's a possibility that Ester Maria's maiden name is FAUS. One of the transcribed records from the Knowlton First German and English congregation reads: [CHRISTENED] JANUARY 8, 1760. [my note - I believe the year should be 1766] Wilhelm____, December 18, 1765, son of Wilhelm____ and Maria Faus. Witnesses: Parents. The Wilhelm born 18 Dec 1765 coincides with the birthdate of William and Ester Maria's son named Wilhelm/William. I sure would like to see the original records, though. I'm afraid I can't be sure where I got this info. There were so many FRIES/FREES/FREEZ/FREESE/FREEZEs and COOL/KUHLs running around it's hard to keep it all straight.
