    3. Hi Rafer & others, I listed a Hester Cowell in my message. She is the wife of David VanKirk of Warren County, N.J. He was Justice of the Peace, his brother, John was Sheriff and enumerator of the 1850 Knowlton Census. I don't have a clue who her parents or siblings are, but from census data and VanKirk history know this: ca year of birth is 1801, age 79 in 1880 Census, died after 1880. Married David VanKirk on 8 March 1808. 8 Children are (I have most of their children and grandchildren also): Elizabeth born ca 1828, m. Andrew Titus William John VanKirk b. 19 Sep 1830, m. Margaret Ann Kinney. John VanKirk b. 31 May 1833, died 4 July 1868, married Hannah Ribble. Lewis VanKirk b. 21 Feb 1835-d.23 Feb 1901. Lars VanKirk b. 1836 Served in Civil War, Co. B, 2nd Regiment, N.J. James VanKirk b. Sept 1839, died ca 1914 in Hainsburg, NJ m. Mary Elizabeth unknown David VanKirk b. 1843, married Fannie unknown. Sydney VanKirk b. 1844, married Henry unknown. This is all I know of this one Cowell daughter.
