Bob- Where do you live? Hopefully near a library from which you can get the Gen. Mag. of NJ? The Grandin Fulling Mill Book, 1774-1785, records begin with Vol. 52, no.1, Jan. 1977, and carry through over the next several issues. The original record book is in the collection of the Hunt. Co. H.S. The location of the mill was "just below what is now Hamden, in Clinton Township." The book contains "both the accounts and the job orders of the mill's customers but only the latter section is abstacted here for its genealogical details." The Janeway account books are a similar set of records for a store that was located somewhat further west, on the south branch of the Raritan, I believe, but for a period a generation earlier, for between ca 1734-1742 approximately. These were also published over several issues of the Gen Mag of NJ. I'm sorry I'm fuzzy on the Janeway details, but I'm in the process of reorganizing my bedroom and the copies are in there somewhere. The index to the Gen Mag should give you a citation. Both are excellent sources for locating a person in a place and time in colonial NJ. Marilyn- Maybe we have a "roll" here! Can you tell me more about the Grandin Fulling Mill ?? Was it in Knowlton? And what are the Janeway Records? Cathy- Children of Jacob and Elizabeth Angle/Engle listed in his will of 1785: #5 was Catherine m Peter Lassiter! I have Peter Lassler/Lasslaer/Lefler/Lafler/etc b. abt 1723 m. Catherine Angle b. 1728. I also have her as the child of Jacob Angle 1705-1786 and Elizabeth Boyles. This is from my Angle Genealogy of 19 pages. This Peter is under consideration as our earliest Lefler ancester. He may be the father of Christian Lefler m Margareth Angil in 1774 in Knowlton, their daughter was Elizabeth. Will of Peter Lafler/Lefler of Oxford nxt to Knolton proved in 1794 and admin by Paul Angle, etc. These families in Knolton were close knitt. A John Lefler owned property on the River and the family also married Pace and DeWitt. All this discussion of these families gets interesting. Bob Lefler
