Hello Everyone! Veterans Day and Military Research -- can you imagine a better pairing of topic and date? What a wonderful way to honor your military ancestors! Join us in Trenton NJ on Saturday, 11 November 2006, and find out how to investigate your military family members! Everyone is invited to join GSNJ for our 85th Annual Meeting and Fall Lectures. This event is being co-sponsored by the New Jersey State Archives, whose assistance with this event is gratefully acknowledged and greatly appreciated. We will be presenting four lectures devoted to research in military records that should be of interest to anyone with military members in their family - near or far, NJ and non-NJ! The topics and speakers will be: Tracing Your Revolutionary War Ancestor at the New Jersey State Archives, by Catherine Stearns Medich The Veteran's Reverie: Researching Genealogy (Military Biography) at the U.S. Army Military History Institute, by MSgt. Richard Baker Website and Database Sources for Military Research at the New Jersey State Archives, by Veronica L. Calder Uncle Sam Wants You! Twentieth-Century Military Research, by Larry Fermi The location for the event will be Trenton NJ. We will meeting in the NJ State Museum Auditorium and the adjacent NJ State Archives Building, at 225 West State St. There will be book vendors and BooksNJ: the Capital Bookstore will be open. Tours of the NJ State Archives will be available during the lunch hour for the first 25 people to request them. Box lunches will be provided. Door prizes will be awarded. This exciting all day event will be preceded by GSNJ's 85th Annual Meeting, a short business meeting. The business meeting portion of the day is open to the public and free of charge.
