    3. That's the one. The church moved down on Route 94 many years ago next to the American Legion and could care less about maintaining their old cemetery properly. I met someone from that church in Blairstown last year and asked about the old cemetery. He stated they don't even want to bother cutting the grass anymore, no one has the time and no one really cares about the graveyard. It is badly vandalized and there are always kids playing in it. The man living next to the cemetery told me it's a disgrace and that the church does nothing about it. Pass the plate around at the next sermon and buy a stinking fence or something. Thats the problem with most (not all) church yard cemeteries in New Jersey. BUT the churches all want our hard earned money. Volunteer to at least fix the stones & mow the grass. > > Sue Low <sbclow@msn.com> wrote: > Wendy, > > There is a headstone missing in the Methodist Church Cemetery at Columbia. A lady new that the marker was not where it should be and to have further damage done to the headstone, she took it in her house. She lives in the yellow house down the road on the right from the old Methodist Church. > > Sue > > > ---------------------------------------- > > From: catwoman@enter.net > > To: njwarren@rootsweb.com > > Date: Sun, 15 Oct 2006 20:14:14 -0400 > > Subject: [NJWARREN] Missing Headstone > > > > > > > > Hi All, > > I was just wondering if anyone knew of or had experience where they went to > > a cemetery and found a headstone missing of a relative and if so what could > > be the reason for the removal.
