    1. [NJWARREN] THEODORE PAUL
    2. Yes, sorry it is BELEVIDERE where the THEODORE PAUL mansion was. According to the History of Warren County, the THEODORE PAUL mansion was at the northeast corner of Market and water Street. Built prior to 1800, by THOMAS PAUL, who came here in 1792 or 1793. I am curious about this place and these people because my great grandfather's brother's name was THEODORE PAUL CUNNINGHAM b. 1874 in Washington NJ. I was puzzled about the PAUL as a middle name as no one in our family was or ever has been named PAUL. Maybe the mother worked for the PAUL family and just liked the sound of the name. Anyway, while reading the history of Warren County, I came across the reference to the PAUL family and that was why I asked. Thanks for the help. JUDY

    3. I missed some of the earlier messages in this thread, but if they lived near a family named PAUL, I'd look for a member whose first name was Theodore. It was common in the 19th century to name children first and last names after a member of the community or church, not necessarily related. Therefore, re your posting below, I'd look for the namesake as having both names.
