    3. At Shippen Manor in Oxford I bought an interesting little book about the Oxford Furnace and its workers. Produced in 1996 by the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Commission it is titled "Forging Community: A History of Early Oxford" by Susan P. Morgan. I believe it cost $5 of less. Shippen Manor is online at http://www.wcchc.org/. The book includes a 1773 Oxford Tax List which lists both William Current and John Lefler. The Knowlton 1773 Tax List shows a James Peterson. Bob Lefler I think it is amazing that we have these Angle/Engles who married Fries and Lefler in Knowlton, and Lefler also had married Fries----and then Lefler and Fries are in Bradford CO,Pa, later!!----- Original Message ----- From: <oshaunessys@msn.com> To: <njwarren@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 09, 2006 10:27 PM Subject: Re: [NJWARREN] Engle/Fries > Dear Bob, > > What a small world....I am just outside of Knoxville between Maryville and > Greenback. > > Anyway, do you have a Johannes Engle in your records. 2. It's not necessary to copy the entire digest into a response. Only cut and paste the pertinent message you are replying too and then cut out some of the message that is below the subject line and anything you aren't using to respond to in the message. Christie Trapp

    1. [NJWARREN] SUBJECT LINES PLEASE!
    2. Hey folks: How about putting a subject line into your messages - no subject line just doesn't make it, nor does using the previous list name. Please, please, please, start putting a subject line in when responding to someone's message. It doesn't take all that long, even if you are sending a reply back to the list. If the list name, volume number comes up, change it to the topic you are responding to. Thanks. Christie Trapp

    2. Marilyn Souders
    3. Bob- It was me - Marilyn Souders - who mentioned the Person/Persings. You and I have had many conversations about the Lefflers who married my Metz family. The area being discussed here, where the tavern was, is where in earlier time the Persons owned a mill and part of the 700 acres owned by William Person, Lawrence Minnier and Valentine Metz. There were also marriages between the Persons and the Metzes, both in Warren Co., and among some of their descendants in the Susquehanna Valley in PA. 1. Re: [NJWARREN] (no subject)
    2. Bob, This doesn't pertain to the message below. I believe a Johannes Engle married a Maneles (Anna Maria Magdalen) Fries. She would have been the daughter of Johannes Fries and ???. If you have info on this union and generaetions to follow I would appreciate it if you would share it. I am a descendent of Martinus Fries, Anna Maria's brother.
