Emily Clara JORDAN was married to Henry Clay FOLGER on October 6, 1885 in Elizabeth, Union Co. NJ. Emily was the daughter of Edward Jordan, a lawyer who lived in Elizabeth between 1873 to 1899, had graduated from Vassar in 1879. Henry Clay Folger had graduated from Columbia Law School com laude in 1881. According to a biographical sketch he "was steadily promoted through the ranks of the Manufacturing Committee of Standard Oil" eventuallty becoming president. I am wondering if their wedding would have been reported on the society pages of an Elizabeth newspaper?? I would especially like to know who attended the wedding. Emily Jordan and Henry Clay Folger founded the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC. They had no children so she is a dead end but I am hoping to find the names of other members of her family. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Sara Lyon
