Those old photos on metal are tintypes. They probably came from an amusment park or boardwalk booth. The images are most likely mirror-image, that is, right is left and left is right, due to the fact that there was no negative used in the process. The processing used is called reversal process, and it only takes a few minutes from camera to finished print. Maybe someone out there knows the range of dates, but I would expect it's 1910 to 1935.
