Oh man!!! What's the deal with the V.S. Office in Union County. Now they want the exact date of birth, marriage, death (M/D/Y) and they WILL NOT do any searching. That's why we pay extra...to have the search done. I have never had such problems with any other V.S. office before. First - I got the info from their website regarding ordering certificates and it said nothing about using their own form. So, they sent it back. All 21 requests. Fine...so I filled in the forms and sent them back including the fee amounts with searches. Now, they are sending them back again with "effective immediately" notices. I must supply exact dates. Can someone explain to me why??? I am feeling really frustrated over this. All of my family is from Elizabeth, NJ. They really know how to tie things up. Many states are now taking the info over the phone. I think they're stuck in the 20th century along with my requested certificates.
