Hi Pat, I neglected to write down which year of the Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey these came from - sorry. I have a separate list somewhere with the dates and will post info when I find it. "Union County Gravestones SCOTCH PLAINS BAPTIST CHURCH YARD The Scotch Plains Baptist Church was organized August 5, 1747, by fifteen members from the Piscataway Baptist Church at Edison (Stelton), Middlesex County. A building had been erected in 1742, which was enlarged in 1759. The first pastor was the Rev. Benjamin Miller, who served from February 13, 1748, until his death on November 14, 1781. He was succeeded in 1785 by the Rev. William Van Horne. The church, with its adjoining burial ground, is located on the southeast corner of Mountain and Park avenues in Scotch Plains. These inscriptions were first copied in 1922 by members of the Genealogical Society of New Jersey, and subsequently supplemented by them on November 4, 1952. The early brownstones in the graveyard are in poor condition. Many are fallen and broken; some have disintegrated completely. Inscriptions enclosed in brackets were either missing or illegible in 1952. An unusual number of later stones omit the age, and some have no dates whatsoever. Family researchers are also referred to "Scotch Plains Baptist Church Members, 1747-1814," published in the January 1932 issue of this magazine (Vol. VII, No. 3), and to "Scotch Plains Baptist Church Marriage Records, 1758 - 1761," printed in the New Jersey Archives (First Series, Vol. XXII). The original church records have been microfilmed by the Rutgers University Library. UNION COUNTY GRAVESTONES p. 135 Hand, Annie, b. 1870, d. 1936. Hand, Benjamin*; wife Sallie*; dau. Pollie, d.
