The State Archives will do a five year search, with a cost of $10, the Dept of Health and Senior Services will do a one year search. ----- Original Message ----- From: "M. Three times I wrote to the NJ Archives for a death certificate for Alice Heywood. I included the money requested. First they wanted the exact city. I sent that in. Then they wanted the exact date of death. I narrowed it to 8 months in the year 1900 and even included the fater's name, Rev. Thomas Heywood. Their form clearly states they will do a search for a year. They sent it back a third time wanting the mother's maiden name. I am getting frustrated. I should say that if I can get the exact death date, the reference librarian at the Elizabeth Public Library is extremely helpful in locating the obituary, if one exists. If anyone has some suggestions of other places to look, I would be most appreciative.
