There are not an awful lot of LOELOFFs and my LOELOFF family came from Germany about 1847 arriving in St Louis. They moved to San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas around 1882. The German name was LÖLOFF but the family that moved to Texas anglicized it to LOELOFF. Another brother came to Minnesota and they simply droped the unlaut making the name LOLOFF. I am wondering if the NJ family LOELOFFs are a branch of the LÖLOFF family. Floreda
