You may care to look at history of the Kean family, extant to this day in Union, N.J. The original John Kean was president of Elizabethtown Gas Company, an office which passed to his son and onward. They were also holders of "The Kean Farm," which was given to Newark Normal School. It is now Kean University on Morris Avenue in Union. A history department there may be of more help and there are also history sources in Elizabeth, N.J. As a child I lived in Lincoln Avenue, Elizabeth.
