Garda, I you go to the site: www.nara.gov/ you will see that in 1906 the naturalizations were filed in DC in the NARA (National Archives). Before that, they were held in local district courts. I believe I read that earlier (much earlier then yours), is in the Archives in Trenton. So if anyone came over 1906 and after, the papers should be in DC. Go to the site and it will tell you how to get them. Good luck! Grace O'Kane PS..do you know where they lived in Elizabeth? Also..suggest that you get 1910 census..not indexed, but Union County is about the 3rd last roll..if I remember right..Also the 1920 census is indexed.. the 1920 one would show year naturalized. I used them to find out..that and getting church records from the parish. My parish is gone now (Holy Rosary), and found out that Sacred Heart has the records, but the Archdiocese of Newark should have them too. Also at the NARA site I mentioned, you could get forms for military service..which many emigrants did to get their citizenship.
