Hi, My brick wall is my great grandmother, Margaret Gartley. She married Charles WEAR in 1874 at Elizabeth after immigrating from Ireland. Her place of birth was Bruckless, Killaghtee, Ireland. John and Alexander GARTLEY lived in Elizabeth, also. My grandmother had a cousin named Lillian GARTLEY, a former teacher at Battin, I believe. Other names in Elizabeth are WEAR and RITTER. My grandfather, Louis Ritter, married Mary E. WEAR, a daughter of Charles and Margaret. My RITTER line comes from gggrandfather, J. Peter RITTER, Capt. in the 9th NJ Volunteers during the Civil War. John Peter immigrated in 1838 from Billigheim, Bavaria. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to share infor- mation.
