    1. [NJUnion] DeCamp/Williams
    2. I am trying to connect William DeCamp born 1770 Woodbridge, NJ, son of Lambert Jr to the WILLIAMS family. Records show his wife as Ann, last name unknown. These families lived in the Union, Essex & Middlsex Counties. If they lived in other counties please let me know. DeCamps and related families did marry into the Marsh families. I followed the MARSH family because the oldest son was named John Marsh DeCamp and a younger brother, William Edgar had a son & grandson named Marsh. After getting the letters John Marsh DeCamp wrote between 1825-1837, I believe he is related thru his mother to the Williams. He refers to Uncle Marsh father of John Augustus Williams, Uncle Abraham W., Uncle David W., Aunt Betsy (Williams)& Uncle Stephen Crane, they wrote to Uncle John W., The W must denote WILLIAMS as these are siblings to Marsh Williams, and children of Benjamin WILLIAMS. Benjamin married Sarah MARSH. If Sarah MARSH is mother to Ann (could she be known by Nancy?) that would be reason for her children and grandchildren to have the name of Marsh. If Ann is related to or is a Williams and she decends from a brother or sibling of Benjamin Williams, John Marsh does not make mention of them. I just recieved mail that Benjamin Williams wife, Sarah Marsh married 2nd to Andrew HATFIELD and must be Grandfather HATFIELD that John Marsh refered to in the letters. He later asks if Grandmother is settled and that could be Sarah Marsh. Elizabeth, wife of Stephen Crane is not named as daughter, in the will, so I will double check my source. More info by mail ....
