    3. Hi Nina and all, Nancy and Ann were used interchangeably - Ann is a nickname for Nancy - so I think you are on target there. Were you able to verify that the second Nancy mentioned in Benjamin's will abstract was really Elizabeth (this was only my theory, I do not have a copy of the original will)? Abstract is as follows: NJ Calendar of Wills 1791 - 1795 p. 399 - 1792, Nov. 7. Williams, Benjamin, of Elizabeth Twsp., Essex Co.; will of. Wife, Sarah, 1/3 of personal property, 1 mare and income of real estate until eldest son, Marsh, is 21. Eldest son, Marsh, 7 acres of home plantation with house and 5 acres of woodland bought of David Mills. Sons, David, Abraham and John, remainder of home plantation divided between, when of age. Land in the Miamies, Colombia Twsp., [Ohio], divided between the 4 sons. Oldest daughter, Sarah, privilege of living at home and L60. Daughter, Nancy Decamp, L5. Daughters, Margaret and Nancy Williams, each L60, when 18. Residue to the 4 sons. Executors - friends, Ephraim Marsh and James Ross. Witnesses - Daniel Baker, Henry Baker and David Rogers. Proved June 25, 1793. Lib. 33, p. 193. 1793, June 13. Inventory, L533.0.3; made by Jehabod Ross and Charles Clark. file 7814-7817G." I would like to know what your source is for Benjamin Williams wife being a Marsh - his mother was a Sarah Marsh (not a Margaret),dau. of Benjamin Marsh and Margaret Ewen, and this would account for the use of the name Marsh and Margaret by their descendants. I would be very interested in determining Sarah's last name! The following is an extract of what I sent Nina earlier today, trying to identify the people mentioned in the letters she kindly transcribed: "Abraham, Marsh, John, and David were brothers of Nancy Williams. Grandfather Hatfield is Andrew Hatfield, 2nd husband of the Sarah (do you know her last name?)who m. 1 Benjamin Williams (Nancy's & above guys father). I think Benjamin's will abstract has a transcription error - the second Nancy mentioned should probably be Elizabeth (bp. 2/27/1785). An Elizabeth Williams m. Stephen Crane, and had a son Benjamin Williams Crane. (Aunt Betsy and Uncle Stephen Crane). Benjamin W. Crane m. Charlotte Littel. Looks like John had siblings Gideon, Philemon, Charity (m. Isaac Dodder?), William I do not know what relations are with the following people: B. Dunham & Sally (Is this Ross Dunham and Sally Roll? If so, how related?) Uncle Reuben Dunn (m. a Sarah Decamp). Is Sarah a sister of his father's? Aunt Betsy Dail and Uncle Amos Dail Aunt Peggy Scudder Are they on the Murphy side?" Does anyone know what the relationship of this last group is to John Marsh DeCamp and his wife Hannah Murphy? Thanks for any clues!
