1. [NJUnion] Land Deeds
2. Mike Miller
3. I have a question on where to find pre-Union County land deed from old Essex County in the FHL microfilms. I live in Iowa so these microfilms are my main access to information. I ordered the Essex County "A" book 1729-1813 recopied in the late 1800's but it seems to only have the current Essex County land area deeds. In the margins it mentions other ?earlier? Essex County Deed books as sources for the new "A" book Essex County listing. When I go to Union County listings, there is nothing from before 1858 or what ever the date was. Where do you go to find the orphaned early Essex County deed that were in the now Union County? Is there a FHL microfilm that covers this somewhere? Mike Miller

2. Hello all, Just a quick note to let eveyone know that my website - www.westfieldnjhistory.com - is now up and almost completely functioning. I need to add some genealogies today, and then it will be complete. This site replaces www.westfieldnj.com/firstfamilies and www.westfieldnewjersey.net/firstfamilies. Both of these sites will have links to the new site shortly. Please note that I am always looking for vital records (birth, death, marriage) from the Westfield area, as well as early photos and memorabilia. Hopefully this site will be up and running 24/7 and will be of value to fellow researchers. Thanks very much, David Kane Nashville TN www.westfieldnjhistory.com www.genealogyinprint.com www.Americanhistoryimprints.com

1. [NJUnion] RE: Seeking Information on 2 Westfield NJ Locations
2. Hi Fellow Listers Just wondering if anyone lives in the Westfield NJ Area that would be willing to check out these 2 addresses for me or is familiar with the Area and could give me some in sight. My Grandparents (Edward & Eliza (Lida) McMahon (until 1920) lived at 122 Elmer St Westfield NJ. I was never in Westfield as I lived in Upstate NY. I am curious if the family home still exists and what the Area is now. The family members who had been there talked about it being a nice location in the 1920 era. However I do realize that many City Area's have changed over the years. I found this Listing in the 1909 Directory. Edward C McMahon, fancy and staple groceries, fine buttler, cheese & eggs 100 E. Broad Tel. 336 W, home 122 Elmer St. My Grandfather also owned and ran a Grocery Store located at 100 East Broad St in Westfield NJ. I guess I am curious if these structures are still standing. If I ever got to Westfield would these Area's be something I could visit. Regards Pat R
