    2. I am researching JEFFREYS (and alt. spellings such as Jefferys, Jefferreys, Jeffries, etc). who were primarily from the Elizabeth area. Also, MORAN, and Irish family that came to NJ about 1845 during the potato famine. Specifically, Edward MORAN and Richard JEFFREYS (who married Ed's sister Ann). Richard left a bit before 1860 and I think Edward stayed on. V Hulderman

    1. [NJUnion] Re: Can anyone help?
    2. You can order a search from the NJ Department of Health. If they will perform a 21 year search, the cost should be $24.00. (You can even order by phone or fax, but they tack on a $8.95 handling charge.) It might be better to try Scotch Plains directly. 430 Park Ave, Scotch Plains NJ 07076. You can try skimming through the unindexed 1910 Federal Census for Scotch Plains -- shouldn't be too big a task -- to narrow down the possible dates of death. And the Westfield Memorial Library has indexed several early years of obituaries appearing in the Westfield Leader. I know they do not go all the way back to 1900, but I believe a portion of the period in which you are interested has been indexed. 550 East Broad Street, Westfield NJ 07090. Good luck! 1. [NJUnion] Re: Church/Cemetery Help
    2. Catching up on old digests . . . Based on my own family research, my first guess for cemetery would be Mt. Olivet, which is in Newark right near the Elizabeth border, behind the Budweiser brewery across from Newark Airport. As far as Catholic churches, you might want to check with the Seton Hall University Archives in South Orange. They have most of the church records for the Archdiocese of Newark, including most of the Elizabeth Catholic church records. I believe they've also been microfilmed by the LDS. Anecdotal evidence from my own family research suggests that many Catholic marriages of that period were not registered with the state, even though they are in the church records. Good luck! They bought a home at 234 John St. in 1867. I'm trying to find out some more info about churches in the area and cemeteries where Eva might have been buried. They were catholic and their oldest daughter was married in St. Michael's. I haven't been able to find a record of my g-grandmother's marriage, but according to census info she was married in 1888. Can anyone help me with names of catholic churches that are near John St.? Where would a catholic from there be buried? Thanks for any help that you can give me. 1. [NJUnion] Robert Wade, Esq.
    2. Wilson B.Brown
    3. In 1791 Robert Wade, Esq. (by which I assume he was or had been Justice of the Peace) purchased a piece of salt meadow in Elizabeth from the estate of Nathaniel Brown, who had died in December of 1790. Other pieces of Nathaniel's estate were purchased by Stephen Brown, Nathaniel's brother, and by Amos Day, a neighbor and perhaps kin. Nathaniel Brown's wife was Sarah, no last name ever revealed in any document I have seen. One possibility, however, is that Nathaniel married his first cousin, Sarah Brown, daughter of Stephen Brown, who died in 1759. Sarah's mother was Sarah Wade, and Sarah's guardian was Daniel Wade, who I think was the son of Robert Wade, who in his 1760 will named his granddaughter, Sarah Brown. This makes no strong proof, but at least it is consistent with my hypothesis. So, can anyone tell me the connection of Robert Wade Esquire to Daniel Wade and to Robert Wade, who died in 1760?
