I have come across five old black and white postcards of Franklin, NJ. They look almost like photos that were printed on postcard stock, not professional postcards. Three have captions in faded purple ink that look like they were hand stamped onto the photos. 1.) Scene of river and woods, no caption (May not even be Franklin, but looks like the others.) 2.) Different river/woods scene. Caption: Walkill River, Franklin, NJ 3.) Three men in suits, one appears quite older than the other two, outside what I assume to be a mine entrance. Caption: Taylor (or Tayler ?) Mine, Franklin, NJ 4.) Scene of stream and woods, man in suit sitting on fallen tree, no caption. 5.) Wide-angle view of buildings, one building in background alone on a hill. Caption: Crow's Nest, Franklin, NJ. Would anyone have any information about this type of card or the subject matter? As far as I know, my ancestors were in the southern part of Sussex Co. and I have no ties to Franklin (though visited the mineral dump many years ago when in Girl Scouts!) Shirley in Ohio, but from NJ
