    2. LAFAYETTE "Miss Abbie Giveans, who left her home in Sussex and came to that of her sister, Mrs. R. J. Blauvelt, in September last, owing to her failing health, passed away on Friday last. Miss Giveans has been a life long resident of the county and one of a large family of brothers and sisters, eight of whom survive, four brothers and four sisters. A private funeral service was held at the home on Monday noon, conducted by Rev. E. E. Loux, of the Sussex Baptist Church. The remains were then taken to the Papakating cemetery at Sussex for burial." Same issue: "After several months illness, following an attack of paralysis, Miss Abigail Giveans, of Sussex, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Richard J. Blauvelt, at Lafayette, on Friday of last week, aged about fifty years. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Samuel S., of Bay St. Louis; Miss Christopher of Amity, NY; Bowdewine, of Port Jervis; Isadore, of Newton; Mrs. Hannah Couse, of Hamburg; Mrs. Margaret Potter of Branchville; Mrs. Emba Fisher of Pittsburg, Pa. and Mrs. Blauvelt. Funeral services were held on Monday from the Blauvelt home, interment being made in the Deckertown Union Cemetery of Sussex." Hope this is helpful to someone. Mona
