DECKERTOWN'S FIRST ELECTION A Republican is Elected President of the Village -- The Other Officers. The election in Deckertown yesterday, the first under its new charter, was quite an animated one. There were three tickets in the field. Theodore Margarum, a Republican, who headed the [unclear] ticket, was elected by 60 majority over Chas. E. Stickney. The councilmen will stand a tie. John W. Decker, Dem., was elected Collector, and William J. Seeley (on both tickets), Assessor. The town of Wantage election was also held, but the villagers were not allowed to vote. The polling place was changed to Colesville, six miles from Deckertown. Middletown (NY) Daily Times, March 9, 1892
