    3. A John Williams appears on tax lists for Hardyston in 1773, 1774, and 1780. Does anyone have more information on who this John Williams was? I am looking for the John Williams b. 1720 in Bristol, Old England, who married Lea Decker in 1742 (RDC Walpack). In 1750 he obtained a warrant for 50 acres in Upper Smithfield, PA (across the river). In 1753 he sold this land to his father in law Broer Decker. This is my last record for his residence. In 1755 his son Ezekiel was christened (RDC Walpack records). It is possible that when he sold his land in Upper Smithfield, he moved across the river to Sussex Co., but I could be wrong. In 1777, his son Ezekiel's Oath of Allegiance is in Northampton Co., PA, records. Ezekiel served in the revolution in a Northampton Co., PA, unit. About 1783, Ezekiel Williams married Lydia Westbrook. I have not found their marriage record in PA. I'm wondering if Ezekiel Williams married Lydia Westbrook in NJ -- her mother and step-father lived in Sandystone-Walpack Center area. Any help on Ezekiel's father John Williams would be appreciated. I would like to know if he moved to Sussex Co. after 1753 and if he is the same man on the 1773, 1774, and 1780 Hardyston tax lists. (A problem: John also had a son John Williams, Jr. who could be the man on the tax list as John Jr. was born in 1746.) Helen Graves
