In 1896 she sold the farm and built a beautiful home in Sparta, where she resided with her sister , Drucella, for fifteen years. The latter married Mr. Theodore Durling and moved to Pompton. Soon after Mrs. Washer moved to Stanhope, and for the past sixteen years had made her home with her niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kisz. She is survived by one brother, Mr. Reed Washer, of Sparta, and two sisters, Mrs. Lila Van Blarcom and Mrs. Theodore Durling. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. William Hollinshed, of Ringoes, an old friend of the family. After brief services at her late home they proceeded to Sparta where Rev. Mr. Benjamin, assisted in the presence of many friends and neighbors. The floral offerings were many and beautiful , and were evidence of the high esteem in which the departed was held. In the family plot in the beautiful Walkill Valley she was laid to rest. Though by nature denied the honor of mother-hood, she, by the grace of God, was tender, kind and loving to all and all can well afford to try to live as blameless and useful life as her's, " Earth to earth and dust to dust Calmly now the words we say Left behind we wait and trust For the resurrection day. Father in thy gracious keeping Leave we now thy servant sleeping."
