    1. LANCE, MORDEN, TWINNING, LINDABERRY, FREEMAN update
    2. After reviewing some of the data I've had for years but had not put two and two together inspiration finally hit. My search and research centers on Blairstown - Walnut Valley and Hainsburg Cemetery. There is also an unknown LANCE person buried in Blair Cemetery but I'll save that one for later. There are 24 known LANCE people buried in Hainsburg Cemetery. With one exception these all appear to be the children of JOHN LANCE, b Oct. 7, 1780 - d DEC 24, 1856. John was the husband of NANCY, born about 1793 and who passed Dec. 24, 1851. John and Nancy has seven children I know of: There were three girls, Elizabeth who married a Mr. Twinning, Catherine who married a Mr. Freeman and Charity. Nothing else is known about these women nor their familles. I'd like to know at least the age of the girls - maybe they have living decendants who know more about the family? Of the four boys the eldest is William, born about 1817. I believe this William and my great great grandfather William who married Charlott Brown about 1835 - died between 1866 - 1870, to be the same man. In John Lance's will, probated in 1857, he mentions his son WILLIAM and gives to him two pieces of land; 1. The Twinning house and lot belonging to Binyon Twinning, and 2. the lot brought from Gershim Lindaberry. One unlinked Lance person in Hainsburg is Elenor Lance, wife of JOHN LANCE. She died April 6, 1840, at the age of 53-0-27, which makes her date of birth March 10, 1787. I don't know who this Elenor is but there is a record of ELENOR MORDEN who married August 2, 1807, to a JOHN LANCE, both of Knowlton. I need to know if Nancy was the one and only wife of JOHN LANCE 1780 - 1856. I know the date she passed 12-24 - 1850, and her approximate age at death, which gives me an approximate year of birth - 1793. What I don't have is: a marriage date, her maiden name, or a will, almost any of which would tell me if she is the mother of the children listed in John Lance's will. I also have been unable to find her burial place. The Elenor who is buried in Hainsburg passed in 1840, making her the earliest known LANCE burial at Hainsburg. It seems almost certain this Elenor is Elenor Morden and that she married about age 20 to a JOHN LANCE. I know that Elenor (Morden ? ) passed away about 11 years before NANCY, the wife of JOHN LANCE, died. The question is: Could Elenor be the first wife of JOHN who was husband of NANCY? If not, who was the JOHN LANCE she was married to? Lastly, the clue of the property bequeathed to WILLIAM by JOHN may yield some unexpected information...but how to get the land records or what ever other records that will tell me when he marries and to whom and so on. Your ideas? Thank you. Laurence Lance Seattle
