McCoy COX, son of Nicholas I. COX and Meribah (unk.) married Caroline ROE, daughter of John Jacob ROE and Sarah BROSS on 1 Feb. 1860 in Sussex Co., NJ. McCoy was born 1835 and died 1866. He is buried in Papakating Cemetery, Sussex Co., NJ. Caroline, born 1836, died 1898 and is buried also in Papakating Cem. They had one infant who died 16 Jan. 1861, a son and he is buried in Papakating Cem. Was Sarah Alice COX, b. 1862, one of their children? Was Nicholas COX (1864-d. 1902 in Wantage Twp.,) and who married Charlotte DUNN, another of their children? I find this in the 1850 census, Vernon Twp.: Nicholas Cox, 61 years Meribah Cox, 54 years Rebecca Cox, 18 years McCoy Cox 14 years Nicholas, 25 years Charlotte Cox, 23 years Sarah Cox, 4 years. Apparently the above Nicholas and Meribah were the parents of Rebecca and McCoy and possibly also Nicholas? Charlotte, the wife of Nicholas and Sarah, the daughter of Charlotte and Nicholas? The 1860 census, for Hardyston Twp., has McCoy and Caroline living with Nicholas I and Meribah Cox, presumably parents sof McCoy. 1870 census (McCoy is deceased) find Caroline as widow in Wantage Twp., I don't have any other names with her. I guess I need to find that census again. 1880 census, Village of Deckertown, Caroline is living with daughter, Alice, and Caroline's sister, Harriet ROE. Can anyone help me more with the children of Caroline and McCoy COX? Thank you. Mona
