Dear Carol, So sorry for your sickness and loss... I am also looking for the Dilley's of Sussex County, NJ, particularly as they connect with the Hamler family. David B. Hamler 08 May 1865 - 11 May 1922; b. in New Jersey, died in a New York hospital; b. Newton Cemetery, NJ; Sp. Cora B. Dilley, b. 12 Jun 1861, Ohio; d. 08 Mar 1955, Sussex Co., NJ, b. Newton Cemetery. Cora's parents were David Dilley and Elizabeth Dilley (cousins bearing the same last name). David was b. in 02 Nov 1834 in Flocktown, Morris Co., NJ and d. 20 Jul 1918. Elizabeth was b. in Ohio, 1836; d. 09 Aug 1866. David and Elizabeth's children were: 1.) Harriet A. Dilley, b. 05 Jan 1860, OH; living in Newton, Sussex Co., NJ in Census of 1900. 2.) Cora B. Dilley (see above) David Dilley was the son of Tunis Dilley, b. 26 Jan 1805 in Morris Co., NJ; died Ohio, 25 Mar 1868 whose spouse was Christine Thomas, b. 21 Mar 1800, Flocktown, Morris Co., NJ; d. 10 Feb 1875. Tunis and Christine are buried at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Churchyard, Morris Co., NJ Is there a relationship? Many thanks, Kathleen Hamler Purchase >>Due to an illness and death in the family, I have missed much of what has been going on on this list. If those who volunteered to do lookups are still taking requests, would you please look up the names CALVIN (COLVIN), DILLEY, and GRIGGS. Mary GRIGGS, wife of Jonathan Dilley CALVIN is one of my brick walls! I have been unable to find out who her parents were. According to her tombstone, she was born 19 Jan 1814. I don't know whether she was born in NJ or not, but she was in Sussex Co. by at least 1834.<<
