HI Friends!! Just a friendly reminder to searchers in the midwest. The Allen County Public Library is a MUST DO trip when researching. The collections at the ACPL are second only to the holdings of the genealogy library in Utah. Located currently in downtown Fort Wayne Indiana the genealogy section of the library takes both wings of the third floor. A friendly staff is there to point you in the direction that you are looking for. Remember they are NOT there to search for you just assisting where items are located. Besides you know, YOU want to find great grandmother Bessie, not some one else. There are hotels with in walking distance as well as a parking garage close by. There are sports teams, cultural events, and other local museums to let you clear your mind and gather thoughts in the evening. Fort Wayne is in the Northeast portion of the state of Indiana and easily accessed from the interstate system via I-69. I just spent my lunch hour there on Friday and searched the 1895 & 1905 State Census of New Jersey and filled some much needed time frames to narrow down looking for a death date for a great grandfather on my tree. No,.. I am not a plant, and I'm not getting paid for this, just as there are always new searchers coming aboard the good ship genealogy-search, that any extra info for search places and tips is in the words of "Martha" "It's a good thing". Visit the librarys web site for info and a look at the holdings available to search. Hope you find that missing data Respectfully Keith W Brown Indianapolis IN http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/b/r/o/Keith-W-Brown
