He was born in Jamaica, Long Island, NY on 5 Sep 1757, recorded in the family bible. He entered service from there in June 1776 and removed to Wallkill after the war ended. No further mention of family. ---------- Series M805 roll 59 image 228 file S1164, 8 pages John BARTON born in Hunterdon Co., NJ on 21 Dec 1755, was a resident of Fayette County, Kentucky aged 77 years in 1833. He was a resident of Hopewell, NJ and enlisted in Princeton, NJ and was marched to Long Island to serve under Gen. Washington in NYC. No other mention of family was made.
