Greetings, HeritageQuest Revolutionary War Pension File Collection reference National Archives microfilm series M805, roll #536, File S13786, six pages including index page On 19 May 1834 there appeared in Tompkins Co., NY court a William LONGCOR, a resident of Enfield in this county, to apply for benefits according to the 7 June 1832 Act of Congress. He states he was born in Morris County, NJ in 1759 or 1760 where he resided until he was about two years old when his father moved to Wantage, Sussex County, NJ. He enlisted in the Spring of 1776 in Captain Joseph HAWKINS? company, Ephrhaim MARTIN was his colonel. He was also under Captain Benjamin COYKENDALL when his company marched from Red Bank to Philadelphia and back. He was under Captain Solomon MIDDAUGH while at Minisink guarding the frontier. Soldier was born in Morris Co., NJ and a resident of Wantage, Sussex, NJ when enlisted. After the war the soldier moved to Ovid then to Enfield, Tompkins, NY where he has lived for 27 years (as of 19 May 1834) and makes this application aged 75 years.
