    2. Cathy, Would you by chance know if there is an index to the Sussex County Orphan Court records? I didn't know these records existed until I saw your message. My g-g-grandfather Oakley Conklin was born 1823 or 1825 in Branchville, Sussex County and according to his military records was orphaned at about five years old. I'm thinking this is another source I could check to find who his parents were.
